Early that morning, we rolled out of bed right after closing the store. I think we only got about 4 hours of sleep and we were on the road again! Sometimes it feels crazy how much we plan, in terms of volunteer events, but we keep doing it! In terms of this event, we wanted to participate in an event that benefits Ben’s Bells. The El Tour 2014 Opening Season Kick-off event was a charity run! For the 17th year, Diamond Ventures El Tour Adventure 10K & 5K Run/Walk presented by Special Olympics kicked off the El Tour season with 328 participants at the 7:00 a.m. start (Perimeter Bicycling Association of America, 2014). At 5 AM we were there setting up, getting instructions on our tasks and we were placed right at the finish line. Here are some wonderful photos of the event!
